Vascular Dementia- does it get worse, or need treatment? - vascular dementia treatment

My mother had a mild stroke, and appear to vascular dementia. The doctor does not seem willing to address, but the symptoms are very bad. Most of them are physical. That drugs for the treatment of drug (AD) in order to prevent further damage?

It was caused by a blow to small and I read that is caused by small strokes, but I wonder whether the drugs can help. Can it get worse without treatment?

If your mother with vascular dementia, then I'll get worse, patients usually rational model of decline, which worsened suddenly after another little line, and are stable, then even worse, after yet another blow against the disease ( d-point Alzheimer's disease usually have a steady decline). As for treatment, one way is to treat your mother to get your risk of having another stroke, such as daily aspirin, statins to lower cholesterol and blood pressure lowering drugs to reduce their blood pressure under control. This will not improve the condition, but let it deteriorate. Alzheimer's drugs such as donepezil and galantamine, I do not know, I think they are off-label use in vascular dementia, and studies have shown some benefits in symptoms. You are the acetylcholinesterase inhibitors and improve symptoms to some degree of Alzheimer's disease, so that they can be of no help to her mother. You should talk to your document in detail about the various treatment options and, where appropriate, seek a second opinion. Hope this helps, and your mother is doing well.
